Same. I played some Pokémon in childhood. Then some random games and Minecraft. I don't really play them anymore because Nintendo became a mega villain, and playing Minecraft is considered a sin nowadays. I'd say I was an active gamer for five years before quitting. 
Although, I'd say more of an inactive gamer now because I occasionally see other playing games on YouTube, I guess.

31 years now my dad used to sit me on his lap when I was a baby while he played galaga with my older brothers
I'm not that old but my dad did have an Atari that he played with my older brothers (that I still have)Well, if we go all the way back to the Atari 800 where I could play Centipede, Space Invaders, and Pac Man, we're looking at about 40 years.
