Do you use AI to help you? Asking humbly to anyone out there. I'm seeking an answer.

Unless you're using a specifically designed tool (Grammarly, DeepL, etc) you're going to get inconsistent and generally unhelpful asistance. The limits of (and, frankly, bedrock design of) the general use chatbot style ones mean that they struggle heavily with consistency, often make 'educated' guesses rather than reviewing full documents to save compute power, and lose context for details rapidly. They prioritize 'done' over 'correct' or 'complete,' if that makes sense.

If I did use AI, it would be the opposite of helping me. I'm very particular about how I want things done, and I've never seen any AI writing that matches it. I'd probably pull a knife on ChatGPT as soon as I see an em dash taking the place of a comma.

AI will make you a worse writer not a better one. If you refuse to think for yourself you will never have the opportunity to learn. Plus AI is often wrong so using it will give you bad habbits.
