Setting up Mystery novels is harder than I thought

I've already set up my world with four major continents possessing many different kingdoms and towns as well as their own religions as well as having many, but I quickly realize just how hard it is to truly set everything up, especially since I'm not used to making so many characters, especially since I have to keep going back and forth.

If you want to know, I've decided to just stop positing for now and just focus on building the characters for this month, as such, I have made I believe to be quite a rich world (If you want me to drop it, just ask and I'll drop it in the Story feedback section), and I see how hard it is now, especially with the amount of plot points I have to set up as well as the character my MC has to work against.

If you want to know, it is a mystery dungeon crawler novel about my MC who travels the world exploring dungeons in order to find the secret behind who created them as well as trying to stop a cult that desires to awaken their God.

Wish me luck.

Good luck.
And sure, go ahead and drop it (but if you do, be sure to include the link here for easy access to it).

Very cool.
You sure post a lot of idea/discussion threads.
I'm impressed you can seemingly work on 30+ novels at the same time. Quite the talent, don't think I could ever do it.
I'm not.

I'm just cycling through until I can drain out my brain

Another story that will most likely never materialize. It sounds pretty fun as well, just like the other ideas.

You might as well donate all your abandoned ideas to people with a lack of imagination.

There might actually be something truly unique in it.

You might be right.

Hell, in a way, I actually used the ideas form the old novel ideas I presented and added them here, so I'm actually recycling all of them as I build the world and its characters

I've tried writing a lot of genres over the years, and found mystery to be one of the hardest. You have to write it like an onion, peeling off layers and sometimes revealing something completely different underneath... and always have the "core story" in mind as you go. Good luck (and writing it in a world with magic is even harder - not impossible; I know of a few authors who had success with the concept but it is not easy at all).
