High Views, but Low Engagement? Seeking Advice from Fellow Authors

Hi everyone, Developer_H here.

I started my first series, "The Stranger of Tambobong," about 15 days(25-Feb. 2026) ago. I’ve been incredibly lucky to see some explosive growth recently—reaching #320 in Popularity and #88 in the Adult/Mature genre within just a few days.

However, I’m facing a bit of a "Growth Paradox." While my views have surpassed 1,200+, my Favorites and Comments are staying relatively low.

As a new author, I’m wondering:

  1. Is this a common pattern for the 'Mature' genre?
  2. How do you encourage "silent readers" to leave a rating or add the story to their favorites?
I’m constantly trying to improve my writing and engagement. If any of you could take a quick look and tell me if there's something I'm missing, I’d deeply appreciate it. A favorite or a single comment would mean the world to me and help me keep pushing forward!

Thank you for your time and for being such a supportive community.

I agree with the guy above. Even if it isn't actually AI (which after reading it, I feel like it's definitely AI), it's too descriptive. The vocabulary very advanced, but it's simply very very confusing. Reading the first few paragraphs took too much effort for anything to be enjoyable. Doesn't feel like reading a webnovel.

Now about your description/blurb. A short research on Chinese webnovels will show you that they can give fun (or give a vision/promise of fun) with only a few sentences.

Yours doesn't. It really doesn't explain much. All those paragraphs and all I can remember is that your mc got a big dicc. He's just a basic secret domineering CEO, without any hint of what he is other than that. Even if there were it's too non-obvious.

Its so ambiguous dude.

+ your announcements are too much mate. A few chapters in are you're already giving huge thank yous. 20% of your entire chapters are just announcements. Should've probably put them in the authors notes.

This makes me wonder, who tf reads these?

+2, I tortured myself to read more. It was a disaster, this is definitely AI.

I'd trade a tooth for this sort of engagement. This no holds barred "here's what you're doing wrong". The most critical feedback I ever got besides grammar mistakes was pointing out inconsistencies that are explained well enough by context but weren't meant to be mysteries so I just added dialogue to explain them in subsequent chapters. The achilleas heel of far too many internet creators is their positivity bias. Mistaking well meaning criticism for pure malice. Keep up the good work

SH readers are silent. Adult/Mature reader genre readers are even more silent.

Leave them be. Let them read at peace.

And you should label your story as Fantasy. 18cm is very unrealistic. 🤏
Unrealistic but possible in real life.

Thanks boss
Caught me! It was actually 17.5cm, but I couldn't resist rounding it up for a cleaner number. Sharp eye, my friend!
To settle this once and for all, I've prepared a little surprise. In Episode 3, there's a specific scene where the characters develop a 'Precision Measurement App' for—well, exactly this. I’ll be diving into the engineering logic and the actual data then.
Think of it as a technical briefing for the skeptical. Stick around for the 'hard' data in Episode 3!

Dude even if you write your story with AI, could you at least talk with your own words...?

MODS BAN HIM
(Jokes aside isn't that technically not allowed then...? See ScribbleHub rules. Only english originals allowed brother.)
Translating your own work is still allowed. It still counts as publishing English original. I scanned through the chapter. Yea it’s an ai-translation, not ai-generated.
