I don't want to be one of those people who ask, “Why is it taking so long?!?!?!” I just wanted to ask if I will receive a notification if my application is rejected?

Yes.
If you don't get anything within up to 5 days, and your story is not searchable, contact the administration using "contact us" in the footer of the main page.
Just note that if your story has an apostrophe, the search field will not show it. Just write the title without it.
