Unfortunately, many fictions, mainly chinese,
had spoilt me of spears, axe (Defiance of Fall, too, that bloody...), shield (does Tate no Yuusha counts? If not then Cap America does), hammer (MC hides his strength is most BS), polearms such as ErLangShen's Three-Pointed Double-Edged Spear, LuBu's Halberd and GuanYu's Green Dragon Crescent Blade. (Yes, all chinese, guess why?)
And then there is the standard BS of swords amd sabers. Fuck if they make any difference at all. Western, Chinese, Japanese, all the bloody same with "my sword can cleave the heavens" bullshittery.
So I want to go back to the basis. No, not stick aka the ancestor of all weapons. Burly, muscular bodies. Claypot sized fists.
