Is there anyone out there that has written surreal stories/plots?

I vaguely remember watching that movie at my buddy's house. I remember seeing parts that were really cool. Like, they sit around shooting holes in the walls. But, as a movie? It lacked choerence. It was like, I don'tknow. A bunch of scenes strung together and they just *called* it a movie.

next thing you know, there was a movie called "Twister". NOT, the famous tornado movie. This, was some weirdo flick. It made *no* sense, and it starred among others? Crispin Hellion Glover. It was just... the movie *ends*, and you were still waiting for a plot.

Adam Sandler made a weirdo movie, "Punchdrunk Love". Watched it starft to finish, never did see a point or a plot.

if that's all surreal? Whatever.

Yeah, pretty much like a fever dream.

If you haven't done anything to warrant being the butt of a joke, then I am not making fun of ya, but laughing alongside you. :blob_wink:

pretty much like a fever dream

my own example, was my MC had a bad fever going septic, and everything was going surreal and hallunicnatory on him. which made it funny you said those movies were like a fever dream.

"The Mask", 1889 short story by French author Guy de Maupassant
Think I read that (English translation) but not sure.
"The Mask" (Chambers short story), 1895 short story by American author Robert W. Chambers, part of the book The King in Yellow
Definitely read that. Think The King in Yellow was one of the first books I bought for my Kindle.

"The Mask", 1912 short story by F. Tennyson Jesse

"The Mask", 1915 short story by Bernard Capes, featured in the 1989 book The Black Reaper

"The Mask", 1925 short story by Vernon Knowles, featured in the book The Street of Queer Houses and Other Stories
"The Mask", 1934 short story by Henry de Vere Stacpoole, featured in the book My Grimmest Nightmare

"The Mask", 1974 short story by Sydney James Bounds
The Mask (Lem short story), 1974 short story by Polish science fiction author Stanisław Lem
"The Mask", 1994 short story by Michael Swanwick, featured in the 2000 book Tales of Old Earth
"The Mask", 1985 short story by Joan Clark
"The Mask", 1998 short story by Gary Myers
Read at least one of those, probably more.
The Mask, novelization of the 1994 film by Steve Perry
That seems somehow redundant
The Mask, a comics character based on Black Bat appearing in Exciting Comics, published by Standard Comics
I knew there was a character based on Black Bat (and it wasn't Batman - timing suggests both were inspired by the same opera but went in different directions) or Daredevil (who has more in common with Black Bat than Batman does) but didn't know the title.
The Mask (comics), a comic book series published by Dark Horse Comics
Read two issues (well, one issue from each of two series IIRC).
Not sure what the point of your Wall of Text was, unless you're trying to make a surrealist post...

Still going on? This thread reaffirms my decision to take my work down here. I may change my mind, but the only "views" were spammers, trolls, cranks, children.

As to the last: doesn't this place have a minimum age constraint? I left Wattpad and Quotev because they were kiddy playpens. Scribblehub more of the same? I suppose age rules are hard to enforce.

Who's that directed at? I'm 41. :blob_sweat:

No no not you, lol. I'm referring to the little imp who doesn't know what surreal means, doesn't know what genre means, doesn't know what literature means, and apparently doesn't know even what stupid means. (yawn)

I really do have to decide whether or not to post fiction here. And as long as I'm on the fence, I should stay off these forums for my own good. But I really enjoy chatting with many of you. Yourself Darth Vader, Eldoria, and Charles, and many others. Even this funny little guy who started this thread. When the mood strikes me this is fun too. For purposes of confusement. I've left so many other places. I should try to make this work. (sigh)

As to my interest in this thread: I write my novels in surrealist style. That's my interest. I just wish the thread hadn't been started by a 10 year old who's never held a real book.

Carry on. :blob_salute:

I'd give you a laugh reaction but...

If I apparently didn't know what stupid meant, I wouldn't have to put 'book' in bold text for you, but that's fine; everyone on earth has to consider a person that doesn't know comics and picture books are literature the opposite of stupid... Except for me.

Also, what are you talking about? 'The Audumn of the Patriarch' is my favorite book ????. Fix your grammar mistake because you actually typed that, and it's still up; it's Autumn, not Audumn, it's extremely difficult to acknowledge an opinion from somebody like you. Try to make yourself look like the 10-year-old instead of me. I guess you don't know what The Mask by Dark Horse Comics is due to the clear deflection, obviously.

Guys, chill out.

Scribble Hub forums/ community is famous for being chill and friendly. It's okay to fight and all, but please don't drag it out.

Psst: That is a typographical error, a spelling mistake, not a grammar one...

The OP is a surreal existence for sure... or is it us? Nevertheless, I'm waiting for an art exhibition where OP will show this whole thread as their work (though I doubt visitors will consider us as the main attraction).
