It helps me, especially when I wrote a very difficult chapter in one novel. To then recalibrate with the other novel helps me very.
Very unfortunate if you just went from one difficult chapter and realize the other novel next chapter isn't better...
I write currently 3 stories at the same time.
It actually kind of helps me that I can switch between the stories, writing at the story that suits my mood at that moment.
The only bad thing is that I sometimes neglect another story for 1-2 weeks because I have a streak in another story.
I most of the time have a length of 1900-2500 words per chapter. But I have chapters too that are around 3000-4000 words, it depends what is happening in the chapter.
I rewirte them usually. In my main novel I currently rewrite chapter 5-7 new, since the old ones still fit in the narrative but I got better ideas for them now that I'm further in my novel.
