How many sites is your story on?

ScribbleHub, RoyalRoad, Tapas, and Patreon. Fixing typos and making edits requires editing the story in five different locations (Including GoogleDocs) - I can't imagine how people cope when they're published on 8+ sites like some members here

What are your honest thoughts on GL stories?

Male author here writing GL. My protagonist's relationship (non-harem) is so wholesome and secure and communicative that I've had multiple comments from readers in relief at finding a story where the characters actually talk to each other instead of randomly hiding things for plot reasons.

    Games you grew out of?

Factorio, EU4, Stellaris and similar games are games I've grown out of in the last 5 years. In fact, the older I get (old man at 31 atm) - the less I enjoy games. Even MMOs... Old School Runescape, GW1, GW2...

    to monetize

My first-hand account / experience with writing financials: I launched my Patreon after writing 65 chapters. At the time of launch I think I had roughly ~4k readers across both RR and SH on my singular series, a WLW romance fantasy isekai. I had been writing for 6+ months at the time. I hit...

Writing Any tips not to make slow-burn a yapfest?

I regularly end up writing entire 3k+ word chapters that are nothing but a conversation. Hell, my Patreon chapters are just finishing up what unexpectedly became the 10k+ word long "present-giving" arc. Literally just the main character giving a gift to a character or two and talking about it...

Writing Try this fun creativity exercise!

This is a great piece of advice and it's also good to keep in mind to not overdescribe a scene. It's good to allow the reader flexibility in imagining the scene in their own way. The extreme of this is, of course, Bella Swan from Twilight, who was intentionally described very little so that the...

Is it worth going back to split up larger chapters?

According to SH my average chappie length is 4.2k, with my max being 7k+. It's worked well for me and how I write my scenes. It is, of course, subjective on reader preference and chapter upload frequency. I think it's better to think of it more as how many words my readers are getting weekly...

How many of you actually manually use em-dashes?

I use em dashes for various purposes, most notably for interruptions in dialogue... “Umm.” Noburu looked between Amelia, Serena, and Seonmi in turn. “Sure. I’m ready. I just—” ...and to delinimate narration that doesn't affect the flow of dialogue: “Hey!” Amelia protested, puffing out her...

How many of you are robots without realising?

Go to quillbot.com and put your first 1.2k words of your first chapter into the AI checker. Amelia Thornheart passes :blob_uwu: Let's see how many robots we have in disguise :blobspearpeek:

    Work?

I started writing after burning out and quitting my job as a web developer. Writing is my new career. :blob_cookie: I don't make as much as I used to, but I'm more proud of what I do earn. :blob_uwu: When I'm consistent, I probably write 4+ hours a day. Today I did a 3.8k chapter in 3.5hr...

Describe your MC in one sentence

Amelia has been described often as a 'Chaotic bundle of blonde energy". :blob_uwu:
