    I need social experiments

Insert someone into someone’s life. Online date works. Then swap that person out routinely with a different paid actor that looks similar to them and acts similarly. How quickly or slowly can you transform someone’s mental image of someone with gaslighting? How subtle do you really need to be?

    Villainous

(Slap) Get back to XNPC. But yeah I fully understand wanting to tell a new story. I’ve fully developed, storyboarded, and outlined like 4 stories I will probably never write in the last year because I have an ongoing weekly serial that eats up 80% of my writing time and I don’t want to leave...

Writing What do you think about yandere villainess as an antagonist to the protagonist?

Monica definitely qualifies. As do… basically all of the characters in that game when under her influence.

Writing What do you think about yandere villainess as an antagonist to the protagonist?

Yeah that’s the basic idea. The Yan is a shortened version of a Japanese term for “to be mentally ill” and dere is a shortened version of “lovey dovey”. So in love + insane, and generally that means specifically dangerous insanity. It’s easy to romanticize but if you take the concept remotely...

Writing What do you think about yandere villainess as an antagonist to the protagonist?

I have one. Nendra is probably the most miserable person in my story. She’s part demon and has a lot of psychological problems partially as a result, most importantly including sadistic intrusive thoughts and anger issues. She’s actually the wife of the guy the MC got isekaied into, who was also...

What makes a work of fiction worthy of being called art?

If you make an attempt to cause people to have a certain thought, feeling, or experience then that’s art. If you successfully give people a certain thought, feeling, or experience then that’s good art. If you successfully give people a certain thought feeling or experience that can be repeated...

How quickly do you lose track of time?

I actually use date and timestamps in my story as glorified scene transitions, which really helps. Its probably not that important beyond knowing when a night happens because that’s when my MCs powers reset, but it’s there.

Why are writers fighting the future AI?

Yeah sorta. The way it’ll actually work is that the economy will shift around as whatever roles exist that humans are required for will become more important and people who can’t do those things will be increasingly marginalized. Exactly what it is that humans can reliably do better than 2040 ai...

Do you use AI to help you? Asking humbly to anyone out there. I'm seeking an answer.

Ai is good as Neo google. Ai is good as a quick and dirty translation. Ai is alright as a beta reader in a box as long as you have it TELL YOU what to fix instead of letting it fix things for you. Thats how I use it most often, and I frequently disagree but just as often it points out something...

Developing a counter to my magic system

Possibly the tuning fork for active sound cancellation as the quick and dirty option OR is highly targeted to counter certain verses (or at least all verses that integrate the one narrow frequency it counters), but something like a crank operated music box for more complex “countersong” like the...

How to be funny and still be a good writer?

Presumably the eldritch abomination cheerleaders are a legitimate threat and at least the SEAL and the cowboy are reacting to them as such in a remotely competent manner. That would put you into something ridiculous taken seriously territory, assuming that all of the people you listed are...

How to be funny and still be a good writer?

In my experience there are two types of humor that work best when writing something that exists for any p other than just being a joke. Something serious taken flippantly. Something ridiculous taken seriously. Is MC making dickish comments to the armed gunmen trying to kill him, perhaps as a...

Writing Prompt The Demon Lord is only weak to you throwing it back

I’m gonna need some world building. What is the mechanic by which victory in this twerk off defeats the dark lord meaningfully? Is there a legion of oppressed orcish club goers that will abandon his cause in favor of my own upon seeing my heroic donk work? Are the gods watching and super into...

How did you feel at the end of your first story?

I felt proud that I finished it. I never want to be the kind of writer who has a dozen half finished stories so I kept going till it was done.
