    Readers are Hiding From Authors

It was a mild joke about when a manuscript is seriously considered, the editor has an annoying tendency of saying, "have you considered..." and finish off their suggestions as, "it fits the highest paying demographics of the market." ex: "your stuff is great - angst, growth, natural...

    Readers are Hiding From Authors

The good way to smother inspiration is to pander to an audience. The author would constantly second guess everything that is written. Pandering is the publishing editors job.

    "snappy" dialogue...

It's difficult to make sure every word to be important to the story/character establishment. Snappy to me is short, important and mostly for show than tell of what's going on, happened or foreshadowing.

    Come back after hiatus

I'm good with premises but not of plot, conversation nor character - the important parts of a story.

    Come back after hiatus

I'm assuming it's opening the novel up to be contributed on by others, it reads like someone saying, "use my idea since I'm burned out." I could be wrong. It is also unfamiliar to me and I'm guessing by context.

How Should I Go About Rebooting My Work?

If you got time - I would recommend you to actually do both. Only make a reference that it's written by the same author. For example, CasualFarmer did this with Beware of Chicken and Soaring Heaven's Isle - The author referred to it as alternate universe.

I have a question for people who know about psychology/psychiatry.

There are health conditions that can also induce hallucinations - diabetes, badly manufactured medications (depending on country), heavy metal poisoning (depending on country), brain conditions like a tumor or Parkinson's, cross interactions of medications and/or going under/over dosage of...

Do you feel intense cringe when the novel MC swears?

you you should meet my grandmother, I think the show golden girls gave her inspiration so many years ago to not give any care to anyone else's critique. This was after my grandfather passed so, it does happen - and frankly, it is normal to regress to ... more juvenile state as one reaches a...

Is there a tag/genre that you do not want to read anymore?

Harem - I liked the idea and the variety of the cast but eventually, I noticed there's no way to do a harem without either having a spineless MC trying not to offend any of his girls or the girls force new members on him as a way of sharing the wealth (weird, I know.) And just to keep the story...

Write something that will make people's emotion to fluctuate.

I sat in court, waiting for my turn to speak with the judge as part of the sentencing process. In the past months, the DA wasn't really helpful on letting me know what was going on with court cases of my brother's murder. Since the accused was minors, I wasn't given any details. When I tried to...

Matriarchy Vs. Patriarchy in world building.

That is probably the best argument I've ever read for a matriarchal monarchy.

What do you do when you hate a core part of your story?

I use the aspects I dislike as a foil of criticism and a conflict that drives the plot. Let's take slavery - MC buys a mine that is notorious for slavery use and individually the operations of the mine to demonstrate the purpose of freemen, that people that has a future has a drive to improve...

I found a novel with exact copy content but different title, is it the original author?

You'd be on how many people wants something for low effort / next to nothing. The hollowness of their achievements goes way over their insipid heads because one would have to be stupid to believe that things come without costs in the first place.

    Infinite cycle series?

I've thought of a version similar to this, basically a wandering fallen god with his divinity stolen the moment he was ascended and banished beyond his original universe as a way to hide the thief's crime because it's basically a very heinous crime in the pantheon, a murder of a god. He...

The guide trope and why it's sidelined

What about an ancient tome? The tome only answers to the bound owner and only one owner at a time, the pages blank for each new owner, the book still has knowledge of everything written in it. Naturally, that tome had a history of owners being murdered and eventually secreted away in paranoia...
