Requesting a "Tanks" or "Combat Vehicles" tag

Hi, I'd like to suggest adding a Tanks tag to the site.

Military vehicles — and tanks in particular — have a dedicated and passionate fandom, as demonstrated by franchises like Girls und Panzer, World of Tanks, War Thunder, and Transformers. Stories featuring tanks and combat vehicles as central elements (whether as setting, characters, or plot devices) currently have no dedicated tag, making them difficult to discover through the tag system.

A Tanks tag — or more broadly a Combat Vehicles tag — would benefit both authors looking to reach that audience and readers actively searching for that kind of content.

Yup, I realized it only after writing the post. People read the tag and wonder if it's about a shield hero or panzers... Oddly confusing. Probably combat vehicles would be a better tag, or defensive characters... Go figure

Anyway, while Ai-chan isn't against the idea of tanks as a tag, wouldn't this open the way for jet fighter, submarine, airship, battleship, MCV and artillery tags too?

Yepperoni. and elves, and dwarves and everything else descriptive. But a broad category like combat vehicles could be legit enough. also a lot less hard to missplace with shield warrior tank guys (or gals). Problem is: I feel stupid posting the post again to ask for a slightly different thing...

Well yes. I did indeed use military + living objects for my story, but it felt sort of not intuitive. Combat vehicles has the strong point of being quite wide, you can toss in it anything that revolves around stuff like the SHIELD helicarrier, any transformers and even mechwarriors to some extent, and obviously all the military stuff, but they overlap only partially. Then again, I see your point and I realize that the list is already very clogged. I am not retiring the request because I honestly think it covers a hole in the tags tapestry, but I won't complain if it gets rejected since there are workarounds.

I think "Combat Vehicles" is both broad and specific enough to think about including it. Chariots, armed cars, landbound mechs, heck, even armed ships might count. Or sci-fi/cyberpunk biker gangs, now that I think about it.

And on the usage of "military fiction" for armed vehicles, that's like saying mechs are only used in space operas. While true for a short time, fantasy mechs exist almost as long, and even Gundam -the space opera flagship- has a timeline where it's not a space opera.

We haven't even gotten a "western" tag yet. All the westerns are buried under "gunslinger" and "firearms." Voted up anyway just in case you get lucky.
