These......are a roll of the dice. My one and only foray into online dating began with a site advertising along the same lines as this. Though "in my neighborhood" turned out to be a 45 minute drive away. Relationship lasted for 2 and a half years, ended with her slashing my tires when she thought I was cheating on her with a niece of mine who was 14 at the time but looked older physically.
The poor girl, she tends to visit my house and stay because she has issues with her parents and I sympathize due to my own parental issues, so I usually let her stay a night or two when things get bad. Somehow, my ex convinced herself that something inappropriate was happening despite me being gone most of the day and nights when the supposed cheating apparently happened.
Complete misunderstanding, but that misunderstanding cost me almost 1,000$ to replace and I had to get physical with her to get her out of my house when she pulled a knife on me after saying she "would rather die than move back in with her parents." Not my problem. She tried to cut me. I broke her nose. I had cameras to prove she struck first.
First and ONLY time I tried online dating. Been 6, almost 7 years since then. Then again, a friend of mine met his wife through online dating and they've been married for 11 years now and have 4 kids so....like I said, it's a roll of the dice. A flip of the coin, if you will.
